Arts Workshop with English learners

In Partnership with 4H and Eufaula High school, the students learned how to build and decorate blue bird houses and painted a canvas featuring a bird that symbolized their unique personality. Some painted eagles to represent freedom. A particularly inspiring piece featured a bird leaving a cage. Many had never painted before and were throughly immersed in the experience.ย

Barbour County High School JROTC Mural

In partnership with Barbour County High School’s JROTC program, Christie Chandler painted this mural to inspire cadets. The program director, Chief Graham, is a community leader and father figure to many students.ย

4H Nature Journaling

We also partnered with 4H and a kids mentoring group in town to help children make their own nature journals. When they arrived at the farm, they sat alone In nature and wrote poetry, drew pictures inspired by what they saw and heard, and shared them with the group. This was a great exercise in learning to appreciateย nature, using their imagination, and work on social skills in presenting their ideas to their friends.ย

Painting Class at Eufaula Country Club

Christie Chandler taught a painting class for the Eufaula Country Club for one of their regularly scheduled Ladies Night events.

21st Century Summer Program

In partnership with the Eufaula Elementary School, children learned art history and made a Van Gogh starry night painting to take home.

Face Painting

Also in partnership with Barbour County High school, Christie Chandler offered face painting at the community Halloween Carnival.
